Music & Curriculum Director
Armelle Gloaguen

Founder of Armelle's Language Studio in Larchmont, New York and creator of Les Enfants Musicaux program for children.

Armelle has a French B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Psychology as well as a B.A.F.A. degree in Music, Movement and Theater Expression  of Children.

 
With 15 years experience working with children in the United States, France and Guatemala, Armelle is an experienced teacher, accomplished singer, guitarist and song writer.  She produced and recorded her own collection of children’s music in French and Spanish for language acquisition.  She is a featured vocalist in 3 award winning video tapes for children in English, French, German and Spanish

Sophie Desmond


Sophie was born and raised in Paris where she obtained her French Baccalaureate at the Lycee Louis Le Grand. Sophie has lived in the United States for 13 years.
 

She loves to read and sing and share this pleasure with her two children  Melissa  and Nicolas.
Sophie also coaches tennis and field hockey.
 

Ilham Loughman

lham was raised in Paris and has been in the US for 11 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

She loves to teach her native language and share her culture.  She is passionate about teaching and volunteers as a French Instructor at her children’s elementary school

Danielle Jeuneux- Marshall

Danielle is a French citizen who was born in Libreville, Gabon. She has lived in Paris and has spent the last twelve years in the United States. She possesses a degree in Tourism from France, a certification in Interior Decorating and has taken classes in early childhood education.


Danielle has two girls who are actively learning the language. She loves to spend time with family and friends and enjoys working with children.


Livia Umpierre

Livia, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, moved to the Boston area 19 years ago.  After the birth of her two daughters, she recognized the importance of introducing children to a second language as early as possible.  She has been teaching Spanish to young children for more than three years using songs and games and making the process fun and entertaining.  Liva has a Bachelor of Arts from the Inter American University in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.


Maria Gonzalez-Griffith

Maria is Cuban-American. She has a Liberal Arts degree from  California State University Northridge. She enjoys all languages and has studied American Sign Language in addition to her Native Spanish. 
 She has 2 years experience in the elementary school bi-lingual Spanish program, and 10+ experience as an early childhood educator in Massachusetts. She has many years experience working as a volunteer with developmentally delayed children, and has worked extensively with occupational and physical therapists to maximize learning experience for all children.   She enjoys embroidery, cooking,  hiking, river rafting,  and music.  She will be taking guitar lessons to enhance her musical skills.
 

Joy Jin

Joy Jin is from China. She loves teaching, children, and having fun. She has Education Master Degree earned in the United States, majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education. Via many years of learning, teaching and care taking experiences with young children, she found her true passion is to help students pass the bridge from unknown to known, happily. She likes dancing and music too.


Vanessa Parravano 

Vanessa's family lived in Atina, Italy. She attended Liceo Classico, a  five-year humanistic high school, and earned her diploma in 2007.  Vanessa is currently pursuing a degree in Italian studies and English and has earned recognition for her scholarly achievement in Italian at Boston College.    Her interests include English and Italian literature of the nineteenth and twentieth century,  1940’s/1950’s cinema and the blues


Antonella Portal Venturi

Antonella is from South America and raised by bilingual parents and grandparents.  She is fluent in Spanish and Italian.  She has been teaching for the past three years while pursing her college degree.  She loves to sing and play games with the children.
